Doctor's Notes From 11/26/11

Greetings, GPL Nation:

Thanks to all who joined us at Players Sports Bar in Rockland on Saturday 11/26 and especially, Patti Glassett and Alyssa Lang who both elected to share their birthdays with GUNPOWDER AND LEAD at Players that night! Honored to be able to commend the occasion with both of them and always look forward to sharing it with others who also notify us beforehand.   

GPL makes it's debut in a new venue for us in Brockton this coming weekend. Join us on Saturday 12/3 as we perform our first show at Maui Restaurant located on Main St. (Rte.28) less than a mile from the West Bridgewater line. Please help us launch another successful run for an upcoming South Shore venue sporting live entertainment We will forward more details as the week goes on. As always, we are honored by your patronage and support!!

The Gunpowder & Lead performance at Hajjars has been cancelled for tonight due to Bob Anderson the lead singer of GPL having Laryngitis. We apologize to all of our fans for any inconvenience this may have caused and we look forward to having you attend one of our future peformances at a later date. GPL Band Honoring Rick Packer Of Damien's Pub
On Saturday 11/5/11, GPL was given the honor and privilege of providing the live entertainment for a special fund raiser for beloved Damien's Pub employee Rick Packer, held at the Abington Knights Of Columbus hall. Surely, nothing less than a tremendous turnout from all of his faithful friends, family, and fellow employees who packed the hall designed to hold 275 patrons with a boisterous and greatly loyal supporting crowd of around 350 strong! Rick is suffering from a severe health problem and all of us hope and pray he'll endure, maintain, and get to the finish line many years from now! On behalf of all of the GPL band and staff, we sincerely wish Rick, all his friends and family, nothing short of the very best!! Especially in times like these, we'll know we're not alone!!!

The GUNPOWDER AND LEAD show at Damien's Pub in Hanson scheduled for Saturday 11/5/11 has been moved to the Abington Knights Of Columbus building on Hancock st. in Abington and has become a sold out special benefit event. As always, many thanks for your great support!!

DOCTOR'S NOTES FOR 10/29/11

Thanks to all who joined us at Players in Rockland on Friday 10/28/11 and very special kudos to Zack, the Players sound engineer for his usual stellar job with the live sound reinforcement!

GPL will be performing next Saturday's show for Damien's Pub at the Abington Knights Of Columbus hall as a special fundraising event. More details will be forwarded during the week about this event which will be open to the public and of course, all in GPL Nation are invited!

All enjoy a safe Halloween weekend and be respectful of the impending inclement weather. All the best!!

DOCTOR'S NOTES FOR 10/ 23/11
Many thanks to everyone who joined us at Barrett's Alehouse on 10/21, our second show at this up and coming venue since our debut there on 8/19. Thanks to your great support, GPL has been offered a tentative agreement to be one of the Barrett's 2012 "rotation" bands which will be granted the opportunity to perform there every six weeks! We're very honored to have the tremendous support from everyone who's joined GPL Nation both on e-mail and Facebook! Looking forward to our next show on Friday 10/28 at Players in Rockland!

Doctor's Notes For 9/25/11
Thanking all in GPL Nation who joined us at Damien's Pub in Hanson on Saturday 9/24! Damien's is a venue where your humble GPL band becomes "up close and personal" with the audience as they are always directly in front of us in proximity! As Mick Dundee would say, "no worries, mate"! Always a great crowd and somehow this audience always seems to find a way to create a new dance floor of their own as evidence of their dance "train" during our rendition of the Jay Giel's song "Give It To Me" and others! A classic case of "power to the people". Thank you again for making us a part of your weekend and all enjoy a great week!! All the best, KM
